Privacy Policy for Depicty

This Privacy Policy explains how Depicty ("Depicty", "we", "us") handles information when you use the Depicty mobile app.

1. Information we collect

Depicty is designed to work without an account. We do not collect your name, email address, or payment information.

- Microphone & speech recognition: Depicty asks for microphone access to grade the sentences you speak. Your speech is processed using your device's built-in speech recognition system (e.g. Apple's Speech framework on iOS, or Google's speech services on Android). Depending on your device, language, and settings, that processing may happen entirely on-device or may be sent by the operating system to the platform maker's servers for transcription. Either way, Depicty does not receive, transmit, or store a copy of your voice recordings on our own servers.
- Photo library (optional): if a lesson lets you use a photo, Depicty may ask for photo library access. Any photo you choose stays on your device unless you separately choose to share it.
- Learning progress: your XP, streaks, per-verb strength meters, and language/level settings are stored locally on your device. We do not currently upload this data to a server or account.
- Diagnostic information: standard, non-identifying technical data (such as crash logs) may be collected by Apple through the App Store to help us fix bugs, subject to Apple's own privacy terms.

2. How we use information

We use the information above solely to run the app: grading your spoken answers, tracking your local progress, and keeping the app stable. We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for advertising.

3. Data sharing

We do not share your information with third parties, except:
- With the operating system's speech recognition service (Apple), as described above, to grade what you say.
- If required to comply with the law, or to protect the rights, safety, and property of Depicty, our users, or others.

4. Data retention & deletion

Because your learning progress is stored locally on your device, you can clear it at any time by deleting the app. See our Data Deletion page for details: depictyapp.com/datadeletion.

5. Children's privacy

Depicty is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

6. Future changes

If Depicty adds features that involve an account, cloud sync, or analytics, we'll update this policy before those features collect any new information.

7. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We'll update the "Last updated" date above when we do.
